Why Special Needs Ministry Matters
Across Tennessee and beyond, many families affected by disability struggle to fully participate in church life. Some families sit in parking lots after being turned away. Others watch online not by choice, but because church does not feel accessible or prepared for them.
DBA believes every person is created in the image of God, every family matters, and every church can take a step toward becoming more welcoming and prepared.

Every Church Can Do Something
Every church has the potential to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families affected by disability, regardless of size. Here are some encouraging steps to get started:
-
**Pray** Ask God to reveal the needs present in your church and community.
-
**Identify** Notice families, children, students, and adults who may need support.
-
**Start Small** Begin with a simple buddy system or support plan.
-
**Train Volunteers** Equip people to serve with confidence and safety.
-
**Grow Faithfully** Build slowly, wisely, and sustainably. Together, let’s embrace the opportunity to serve and uplift those in need!

Dyer Baptist Association is preparing to offer training for churches, leaders, volunteers, Sunday School teachers, children’s workers, student ministry leaders, and anyone interested in learning more about Special Needs Ministry.
